San Luis Obispo Country Club

Absolutely perfect! Bill, the event coordinator, is more than amazing. From the time we started planning the ceremony and reception there until after everything was finished after the reception Bill was so so so helpful and always had a smile on his face. He made the experience incredible and really goes above and beyond at his job. The food was delicious, the vendors had easy access to the site, rehearsal went smoothly, and of course the ceremony and reception were more than I could've asked for. It really was better than I imagined. Thank you so much!

The Country Club was an excellent choice for our wedding. A lot of our guests would be coming from out of town, and it was very important to us that we choose a site where we could have both our ceremony and reception. This spot was perfect for us! The setting was beautiful (rolling hills, vineyards, a lake...), and the room for the reception was outfitted just right. We loved the comfortable chairs! No uncomfortable folding chairs for our guests!Since it's a country club, we fully expected the pricing to be outrageous, but it was actually more reasonable/affordable than most of the other venues we looked at, and for us a much easier deal. We wouldn't have to worry about renting any supplies, finding a caterer, etc, which we had been dealing with with the first venue we booked. And, bonus, they have an event coordinator on staff!The food was delicious! This was very important to my husband and I. We did not want any dry/gross/blegh wedding food served at our wedding. We wanted to really treat our guests, since the enjoyment of food is a big deal in our lives. We actually found that the food served at the wedding was even better than what we had at the tasting! And the appetizers we did get to enjoy (they brought us a tray - very nice!), were extremely tasty! I was a bit jealous of our guests since they got to enjoy more of them. They were even able to accommodate my special request for an appetizer not featured on their menu, and did an excellent job with it.My only gripe was that communication could be a little slow at times. There were a few times I had to send follow up emails or call to get answers to questions I had sent in. I think the biggest lag was towards the end - in fact, I never did receive our final pricing requested two weeks before the wedding. My father in law ended up taking care of everything at the reception. My husband and I didn't want them to pay for certain things, so that was kind of disappointing to us.But when I did meet/speak with Bill, he was always fantastic. You can tell he's been in the game for a while - he really knows his stuff. The rest of the staff were always wonderful, as well. Very polite, very professional, and they never acted too busy to help when we were setting up.Overall, I would certainly recommend this venue! We had a wonderful wedding, and our guests had a fantastic time.

I do not know if I can put into words how amazing Bill Mortimer and the entire staff at the Country Club was throughout the entire planning process and most importantly on the big day. I emailed Bill a lot since we live down south and were planning our wedding for a year and a half. He always got back to me with an answer that put me at ease and made us feel like we were in good hands. We wanted to do some different things as far as room set-up, etc. and Bill was always so flexible and accommodating. On the actual day, everything was perfect..no detail was left undone and we were able to relax and just really take it all in. The food was incredible and the service was wonderful. We had a huge, rowdy group of friends and family and everyone had the best time and the staff seemed to enjoy it. It honestly was the best day of our lives and a big part of the reason for that was Bill and the staff at the country club. If you are getting married in San Luis Obispo, look no further. In addition to the beauty that the club offers, you will have the most amazing coordinator around!

The San Luis Obispo Country Club was so amazing to work with. Bill is the coordinator and he is amazing. He worked with me on anything I wanted and was very flexible. If I needed help with anything he was there. I can't say enough good things about the Country Club and Bill. Our wedding was the happiest day of our lives. The Country Club and Bill did a great job making that happen for us. The Country Club also catered our wedding. The food was to die for it was so good it melted in your mouth. I would for sure eat there any day of the week.

I'm mother of bride. Bill, at country club and his staff were phenomenol! We worked with him for a year, lots of emails and visits. We never felt hurried, he was soo patient and pleasant, answered all our many questions. He is amazingly thorough! The facility is gorgeous!! Got to decorate the day before-such a blessing for us. Love the 2 lit fireplaces, and the intimate ambiance. Once the reception started, we just kicked back, and had no worries! Bill was all over it! And for clean-up after, staff was so great! We hardly had to do anything...maybe 1/2 hr. They packed up all our decorations, etc! This is the place! HIGHLY recommend:)

Having my reception at the Country Club in San Luis was absolutely amazing! The reception was perfect, and we had just the best time! Everything was so well organized and streamlined.We didn't have to worry about anything! Our wedding party had champagne and appetizers in golf carts waiting for us at our arrival to go take pictures on the golf course. How all the waiters brought out the food was something from a movie, everything coordinated and professional. Bill, the wedding coordinator, has been absolutely wonderful through this whole process, and we could not be happier! He had unlimited free consultations with him, and he had the best ideas! The venue was extremely reasonably priced, with the best quality possible. Bill was there to help out with every detail. He was professional, friendly, and one of the most organized people I know! I would highly recommend having your wedding at the Country Club. Thank you so much for all your time and effort, you helped make our wedding the best day of our lives.

My wedding was stunning, well planned, and complete thanks to Bill Mortimer and his staff at the SLOCC. The venue is outstandingly beautiful, the service received on all accounts is stellar, and the price to utilize the grounds/service/catering is wonderfully affordable. Bill provided personalized service that made me feel supported and as though everything was seamless, organized, and possible. The wedding day was a dream-come-true thanks to Bill and his staff!I want to host all of my events at this location! Even after researching numerous other venues and wedding planners, SLOCC was the best and most memorable choice I could have made.

People say to expect things will go wrong at your wedding. I mean everyone was saying that to me. Our wedding was perfect! I am very grateful to Bill and SLO CC for that. We had just over a year to plan my wedding so we instantly started looking for a location; we looked at about 10 different locations on the Central Coast among tons of research. The Country Club was one of the last places we looked at and we fell in LOVE. I mean it is beautiful with so much green, fountain and hills surrounding you and romantic (pictures of us at this venue are spectacular) and the best part is Bill Mortimer. Bill was such a bright light in the midst of wedding craziness. He was always full of ideas and positive thoughts. He took time to explain everything to us and provide us with his expert opinion. We were planning our wedding from about 3 hours away and he always made sure he was available when we came to visit. The day of the wedding was perfect! Thank you San Luis Obispo Country Club and most of all Bill; our day is now unforgettable and will always be remembered as our perfect day.

The SLO Country Club was an amazing place to have a wedding. Bill Mortimer and his team are amazing. You don't have to worry about anything the day of your wedding and the food (which you must use at the reception) is spectacular. That is hard to find when cooking for ~180 people!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. Bill Mortimer, the event coordinator, was absolutely amazing. He was so easy to talk to and run ideas by. He was always available and willing to work with us on making our day perfect. I can't say enough great things about Bill. He was there every step of the way and made our wedding the best ever. The Country Club is a beautiful place to get married and have your reception. My husband and I got married in July on the terrace by the tennis courts. The view overlooking the golf course is amazing! We had a cocktail hour on the patio and then the reception in the dining room. Bill Mortimer was incredible to work with! He was flexible and professional. All the staff worked with our ideas for a martini bar and interesting appetizers and dinner menus! I could not have asked for a more amazing venue!!

We had our ceremony and reception at the SLO Country Club in June of 2010, and we have nothing but great things to say about the venue and staff. Bill Mortimer is the event manager at the country club, but we felt like he was our personal wedding planner at times (for no extra cost)! The whole planning process was stress free. I highly recommend this venue because you don't have to hire outside catering or bar service (and their food is really good!). We didn't have to spend extra money on the ceremony and reception areas besides the flowers because it is already so beautiful! Bill made sure the wedding followed our specified time line and he made sure we had everything in order by working with our DJ. He even came running out of the kitchen with cake cutting utensils as we were about to cut the cake because my mom had forgotten them, and he tried to make me a toss bouquet because I didn't have one! Our guests still can't stop saying how much fun they had and how beautiful our wedding was. If you want a low stress planning process... have your wedding here!

I had my wedding reception at the San Luis Obispo Country Club in May 2010. I was pleased with the SLOCC from start to finish! Events planner Bill Mortimer is any Bride's dream and was so helpful during my planning process.My reception was ABSOLUTELY perfect!!! From the decor to the food, Bill helped to create my absolute dream wedding.There arent too many wedding venues in the San Luis Obispo area...so for a couple looking at getting married in SLO, defintely consider the SLOCC!!!

Bill Mortimer has the knack to vision exactly what every bride wants. Bill will go out of his way to find that extra special item for his bride even if it is a very special flower only found in a neighbor's garden. From the introduction visit to your wedding day Bill is there to make sure your wedding is the way you want it. The views at the country club are awesome, the food fabulous. No nonsense here. Bill is who you want for your perfect wedding.

This location was wonderful. We had the Ceremony on the Tennis Terrace and the Reception in the main dining room. Occasionally, we had a little delay in communicating with the club's POC, but once they got that confusion cleared up and the new guy up to speed they were very helpful. The food was fantastic (way better than I'd hoped), the servers were on top of things without being intrusive, and the sunset view from the reception room was perfect. One thing though, since we'd had the bar setup on the patio (we had a cocktail hour outside), I think my guests and myself forgot we had to go out there to get more drinks after they'd cleared the tables.

SLOCC was a perfect venue for our wedding. We had our ceremony on the tennis terrace which has gorgeous views of the golf course and the surrounding Edna Valley. Our reception was in the dining room and the large windows make for an exquisite view during the reception. In addition, Bill Mortimer, the special events coordinater was a huge help in the planning of our day and the day of. He is extremely professional and comforting during such a high stress time. Bill made everything play out exactly as planned. The rest of the team at SLOCC were also very professional, efficient, and friendly during our event. My guests raved about the beauty in the location, quality and taste of their meals, and service. SLOCC should definitely be considered for the venue of a wedding in SLO County.

This venue was amazing! Beautiful view and wonderful outside area for ceremony and great indoor area for reception. I did not have the correct planner for my wedding, he is great, his assistant does not have enough experience yet.
