Starr at LaStarr Bakery was amazing. I am not a cake person but her cakes tasted and looked amazing! My guest were blown away that something so beautiful tasted so very good. Upon meeting with her she sends you home with a bunch of cake samples so you try them at home after dinner. It was so much fun to sample at home and so yummy!!!

We took his parents to the cake tasting with us and we all had a great time! Such a fun experience working with Starr. She was very flexible and had good suggestions for our cake design. It was a big one with 4 layers and she worked with our florist for the final decor. We loved it! The cake was amazing just how I envisioned it! The flavor was to die for. I was beyond impressed with how amazing the cake was moist and just divine. Thank you so much for making our cake. We are still enjoying the left overs which are just as good day later as they were on the day of the event.

We used Lastarr for our wedding cake for our July 30th, 2011 wedding in Santa Barbara. It was perfect! I am a frosting snob and Lastarr's buttercream frosting is simply to die for. I had friends at the wedding who had 3 pieces of the cake! Starr was great to work with as well, and made me feel completely at home in the bakery while checking out cake designs and flavors. And the cake design and flowers were simply gorgeous. If I remember correctly, we had a layer of yellow cake with raspberry cream center, chocolate with mocha chip center, and spice cake with like a maple toffee center. They were all insanely good. My only regret is that we froze the top tier of the cake, when we should have EATEN IT! It was so amazing! Anyway, Lastarr did a great job. 5 stars all the way! And in a year, I will demolish the top tier of that cake!

Starr and her team are simply amazing!! Working with them was one of the easiest parts of planning my wedding!! She took the vision I had and turned it into a reality.... That tasted AMAZING!!! We had two flavors in our cake. Chocolate with mocha chocolate chip mousse and lemon with apricot mousse and raspberry puree. Everyone has talked so much about how great it was!!! I will not go anywhere else for my specialty cakes :) I can not say enough. Thank you thank you thank you Starr!!

LaStarr Cakes was wonderful! My husband and I loved that rather than doing a tasting on the spot, Starr sent us home with the various cake samples after our meeting so that we could enjoy them post-dinner (just like our guests would). All of the cake samples we tried were delicious! (FAR superior to other bakeries we met with/did tastings at). The toughest decision we had was which flavors to choose for our wedding. :) I highly recommend LaStarr!

Starr is my favorite vendor I used for my wedding (we used her for a bridal shower too!). Neither my family nor I will use anyone else ever again for a cake or specialty baked good. Her creations are gorgeous and they taste absolutely fantastic. She rarely uses fondant (only if a client asks) but is able to decorate the cakes as well as anyone I've seen using fondant (which, if you know about cake decorating, is highly difficult to do). I do not have words to express how highly I recommend Starr and her team. She is kind and highly talented. I cannot wait to have an occassion to use her and her company again!

We had the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake. La Starr delivered the design that was made by my daughter to exact perfection. We did not want a cake covered in fondant and had a hard time finding a true artisan that could make a frosted cake look just as perfect as a fondant one. Beautifully made. Perfect in...

Cake was sooo cool looking! Starr put our vision together perfectly! Cake is very light, so if you like the really sweet cakes I would probably go with someone else. If you want someone very creative, Starrs the one!

La Starr and co did the cake for both my bridal shower and wedding. They were both absolutely amazing. For my shower I wanted a mini wedding cake with the design based off of an invitation I emailed her designed by my friend. I gave Starr creative freedom and I am so glad I did. Our wedding cake was exactly what my husband and I had wanted. And the flavors are amazing! She gives you her top 6 or 8 flavors to take home and try. Prices are very very reasonable. I will use her for many many years to come!

LaStarr made our vision come true. When we walked into the room- our cake was so pretty that I hated to cut into it! However, once we did cut into it, it was DELICIOUS!! We had a vanilla cake with strawberry puree and strawberry creme and buttercream frosting. I was so pleased with the service we received here. Also, our florist left the flowers to decorate our cake and LaStarr made it fabulous- it was like something you would see on a TLC baking show. Our friends and family loved it as well!

The cake was beautiful and she was easy to work with. We were very happy with everything. After a big meal, everyone ate all their cake- no one left cake on their plates.

I had so much fun working with Star from LaStarr Cakes! We had a luau style reception and my husbands favorite cake is Pineapple Upside Down Cake. As a suprise for him, Star created individual pineapple upside down cakes, complete with a pineapple rinf and cherry! Our cake was white with a "pineapple upside down" filling. It was amazing and my husband loved it! Perfect fit for the luau!

LaStarr & Co did a wonderful job on my wedding cake. They were more than willing to work with me on the different flavors I wanted on each layer, and they were even happy to give me some tasting samples of custom requests! Cake was a very important part of my wedding; I wanted it to be fabulous, and they didn't let me down. Due to confusion with the catering staff at my reception, the guests were only served the white cake and when I asked the kitchen to bring out the chocolate as well, they essentially served everyone two pieces. Even so, almost all of the guests ate both pieces and complimented me on them afterwards! There was very little cake left over and a few friends even asked me if they could take a piece home for later because it was so delicious! I highly recommend that you try this bakery out. I can't wait for my first anniversary to get a small cake from them to celebrate! We had three flavors at our wedding: chocolate/raspberry, orange crème-cicle, and one of their more "standard" cake flavors involving lemon cake, orange cake, apricot puree, and some other tropical mousse. The tropical fruity cake was *hands down* the most popular and I would definitely recommend you consider it for a non-chocolate choice!

LaStarr & Co. is absolutely amazing in every aspect of the term. My wife and I had the most beautiful and delicious 4-tier cake. She was extremely generous in her tasting samples and even provided us with a second round of the same cakes (in an even bigger size) so that we could have some of our wedding party taste with us. We had 225 guests at our Santa Barbara wedding and were left with a small box at the end of the night (plus our top layer of course). Everyone loved her chocolate/mint combination too. I guarantee you will not be unsatisfied with LaStarr & Co. Cheers! And best of luck in planning your wedding!

Amazing, Amazing, Amazing and just simply Delicious!! All our guests were raving about how good the cake was and some ate more than one slice. Starr of LaStarr Bakery is very good. My husband and I really liked her after visiting 4 other cake places. She was very accomodating and creative. I really loved her presentation for cake tasting...that's the way to do it!! You can't go wrong if you go w/ her services..you'll be very pleased!!

La Star Bakery made the wedding cake for my daughter's wedding in August 2009. We worked together to create an amazing cake display that was enjoyed by all. I have since referred her many times. Starr is a fantastic person to work with. The cake she designed for us was just like her sketch. I also have to say that her cakes are moist and incredibly flavorful. She was flexible and so fun to work with. We stayed in contact mostly by phone and email and she was always prompt to answer any questions we had. I had wanted a cookie bar with some recipes that I had wanted to feature. She was able to reproduce those cookies as well as provide us with a few more delicious cookie varieties. Starr also gave me great advice on displaying them. The cake and cookies arrived in perfect shape and looked so yummy. Everyone loved the cookie bar! It was a huge hit and the cookies disappeared faster than I would ever have imagined. Starr is an absolute doll and I would recommend her to anyone.
