My husband and I met Paul on accident when he came in to my husband's stereo shop one day. He was looking for some audio equipment and mentioned he was a DJ, so if we knew anyone getting married to have them check out his website. Of course, WE were getting married, so I looked up his reviews and wow, I was impressed! Our photographer had worked with Paul before and highly recommended him, so we immediately scheduled an appointment to meet. What a personable and amazing guy! He worked with all of our unique music tastes, from my husband's desire to walk in to The Final Countdown, our custom playlist for the evening and our "different" first dance song. Not only was he our DJ, he also officiated our ceremony. Paul put together a very nice, professional and fun ceremony that included audience participation. He also provided lighting for our reception, which made the venue even more cozy than it already was. I got many compliments on what a great DJ he was and how beautiful the reception looked with the fall-colored lights. Paul is definitely a triple threat; he takes care of all of the little details, is attentive to the bridal party and family members' needs, and keeps the day running smoothly. I dont even know where to begin. The service that we received from Paul was above and beyond anything i could ever expect. He truley cares about making your day special. We had one meeting with Paul and with his help we were able to plan out our entire ceremony and reception in one session. I know he would have been happy to meet with us as many times as needed, but honestly that one time is all it took. He really knows music, and he has a huge library of every type of music you can think of. The ceremony was flawless and the reception was a blast. everyone had a great time, and to top it off, Paul personally went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of, from going table to table to check up on our guests to making sure that me and my brides glasses were always filled. Now thats a real host. We definatly made the right choice

Can't say enough about Paul and how amazing he was at our wedding this past weekend. We met with him the Tuesday before our wedding and I knew right from the start it was a good match and that he would be easy to work with. We went over the entire wedding, what kind of music we liked, and pulled everything together seamlessly. All of his music suggestions fit perfectly and we were always on the same page. Paul's work at the wedding was nothing short of awesome. Our main goal was for our wedding reception to be one big party where everyone had a great time and danced the night away. Our expectations were exceeded. The music list we put together was a huge success and people had a great time. The dance floor was packed the entire night until the very end and we couldn't have asked for a better wedding reception. Can't thank Paul enough for how he treated us and how well he handled everything. He even went and got me my dinner so i could take a few minutes to relax during dinner and was there on more than one occasion with a fresh beer. If you need a DJ for your wedding that is professional but also knows how to have a good time and keep your reception going he's your guy.

My wife and I and my sister and her husband entrusted Paul as our DJ/Master of Ceremonies for our 275 guest double wedding at a family farm outside Paso Robles and were extremely happy with the result. From the start, Paul provided valuable insight on the many logistical challenges presented by holding a large double wedding on a farm (e.g. lighting, scheduling, parking, staging, ceremony choreography, sound, etc.). He maintained good communication throughout the planning process by letting us know what he needed and asking the right questions. He was also proactive in making two site visits and reaching out to our three live musicians to accommodate their needs. On the big day he was calm and collected and seamlessly orchestrated the many activities we planned. He also maintained a high energy level and got people on the dance floor (ours was packed all night). His audio equipment (which was set up in 3 places (ceremony, cocktail area, and reception) sounded great and we had more than enough wireless mics to go around. After the ceremony we were able to relax and enjoy our wedding day rather than worrying that something would go wrong. I'm very glad we went with Paul.

Paul was helpful from the moment we contacted him. He met us in person to go over logistics, met us at the site, met us again to go over song choices, did a great job on the wedding day, and sent us follow up files and information! We could not have asked for a better DJ, MC, and friend. Paul communicated so well and was so personal with our guests, that some family asked if we knew him! Everyone said what a wonderful job the DJ did, which we felt was a really important part to our wedding day. Not only did Paul bring lighting for our venue, he also played for an extra hour while the party wound down. Hiring Paul as our wedding DJ was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We were looking for someone who was upbeat but not annoying, professional but not boring, and someone who had enough experience to make the evening run smoothly without any awkwardness. Paul was exactly what we were looking for. Paul was very professional, responsive and flexible with any late changes, considerate of our wishes, super helpful, and just an overall nice guy. We were planning the wedding from out of town and from the beginning Paul had offered to help out with anything we may have needed. He was very flexible and met with us on short notice to go over the details before the wedding day. He had lots of suggestions and advice but at the same time was not at all pushy. He did sound for the ceremony and DJ/emcee'd for the reception. He is a great speaker, very personable, and added so many personal touches and that made for a great evening. Paul worked really well with our wedding coordinator and other vendors and kept us updated on timing and order of events through out the night. In addtion to sound, Paul also provided the up-lighting for our wedding. It was a last minute decision and we were so thankful he was able to accommodate us on such late notice and his pricing for up-lighting was very reasonable. The lighting turned out great! Overall, my husband and I were completely pleased with Escape Entertainment and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, knowledgeable, reliable DJ for their wedding day.

AMAZING! I really can't say enough great things about Paul Thompson. He is really a quality human being, not to mention a fantastic DJ! I found out that it was going to rain on my wedding day (in June!) 3 days prior. We had an entirely outdoor reception that wasn't tentable. I had to change the entire reception for 170 just a few days before the wedding. Paul had called to check in on me after seeing the weather report. He dropped everything he was doing and helped me in my search for a new venue. Not even my planners stepped in to help (they wanted to charge me extra!). Anyway this is a testimony to Paul's character. He is caring and makes it his job to make sure it is the most wonderful day for you and your significant other. He not only makes sure the DJing is on point, but he really makes sure that everyone is having a good time. He checked in on me and my husband; made sure our drinks were full and made sure my family was taken care of. He even had mints for us when it came time to greet our guests. LOVE IT! Paul also does lighting and was so kind to help with that when the venue was changed. It made the everything look wonderful. Now let's talk about the DJing. I am musically obsessed. I was nervous about letting someone be in charge of everything that was played, but Paul NAILED it! My husband is Italian and Paul did such a wonderful job incorporating it into the reception. Every song choice was spot on! With all of the stress we went through in changing the venue Paul was always someone that we could count on to be there for us to make sure the day went smoothly. Thank you so much Paul for making our day so wonderful!

After our first meeting with Paul we knew we would be hiring him. Paul was not only professional, but always felt like our friend as well. We knew we wanted our wedding to be one where the dance floor was always full, and that is exactly what we got. We had several genres of music we wanted, including Latin and Armenian, along with Oldies and Hip-Hop, and Paul played it all. With us being from out of town, Paul took the time to meet with us two days before the wedding to go over all of our music and our timing for the ceremony as well. Our ceremony was outside, but Paul was able to strategically place speakers (that weren't obnoxious) so that I was able to hear all the music as I waited to walk up the aisle to my Groom. I cannot rave enough about Paul. Hire him, you will NOT be disappointed. He also has this online music planner that allows you to peruse his music and select songs you want for every aspect of your wedding; and if he doesn't have something you want, he will get it for you, as he did for my bridal entrance song!

Words can't express the happiness that both Jeff and I feel remembering that you helped create the most amazing and beautiful wedding ever. Paul Thompson of Escape Entertainment performed our Ceremony as well he was the DJ of our wedding reception. He did an amazing job as our Officiant. He put so much thought and care into every detail of our wedding. He was extremely professional and made us feel like family at the same time. Paul literally saved our wedding day. He stepped in to cover for our DJ and friend who had been in a terrible motorcycle crash the week before. This, aside from being obvioulsy horrible for our DJ, was quite a hurdle for me to get over - being 5 months pregnant and very emotional already. However, on less than a day's notice, Paul was set up at our venue and ready with the ceremony details, vows and music we'd developed with our other DJ. Everything went wonderfully. His delivery of the ceremony was beautiful and very touching for someone we'd met only hours before. Paul coordinated with the venue manager and staff, band and families without us even needing to ask, and helped my husband and I throughout the night. We can very honestly say that we wouldn't have been able to get through the day without him. He was an absolute god-send and everyone, including all of the other vendors, our band, and both families, thoroughly loved him. We would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Paul was AWESOME! He did sound for my daughters ceremony at the church and also at the reception. They were a 15 minute drive apart and he was so professional and prompt. He even came to their rehearsal to map everything out! He met with them many times and also via email, to help them choose every song they wanted from the very beginning to the end. We just sat back and let it all flow! He is the guy to have. It was an incredible day!

Paul was an absolutely wonderful DJ! He catered to every need, even asking if we needed drinks, and brining out mints before we mingled with people. A dj is extremely important at any wedding, because they get the party started! Paul helped us with our music selection with every detail. He had awesome suggestions and met with us 3 times when we were having trouble deciding which songs to pick! I would highly recommend Paul! Extremely professional and friendly!

(OFFICIANT & DECOR LIGHTING)Paul was the officiant for our wedding. He went way above and beyond what we expected in an officiant. We ended up having to move our ceremony inside at the last minute because of high winds and rain. We had another unforeseen circumstance as well. Paul was supportive, flexible and totally involved in improvising and making the best of the situations. He ran back and forth between Chris and I to make sure our sanity was holding up. He even went to the bar to get me a glass of wine to calm my nerves. He had a perfect balance in the ceremony between humor and touchy-feely stuff. His wording was impeccable and was very personable and heartfelt. His delivery and tone was inviting, comforting and enthusiastic, another perfect balance. Paul also provided some beautiful decor up-lighting for our venue. It was transforming and gave our night the mood and atmosphere we were hoping for. Many of our guests complimented his officiating and lighting. We highly recommend any and all of Paul's services. He has qualities that are hard to find in wedding professionals today! My advise to all brides regarding DJ services is " if Paul Thompson is available, book him!" I have worked with Paul for over a decade now and he is consistently amazing. Recently Paul provided his services for two of my holiday parties at the San Luis Obispo Country Club. I could not have been more delighted. Paul was very professional, and EXTREMELY helpful. Having worked at our venue previously (Madonna Inn), he ran through how the ceremony and reception would go with us from start to finish. When our day came we were completely ready. It took a lot of stress off of everyone. We were very happy with the all of the little things that Paul did that helped make our wedding so awesome!

We were incredibly pleased with Escape Entertainment's services. Paul was wonderful. Throughout our planning process Paul was incredibly helpful and supportive. To start from the beginning; My fiancé (now wife) and I talked to several local DJs in the central coast area. We were off to a very disappointing start until we talked to Paul. He invited us to his home, put on some coffee, and walked us through our whole wedding day. Until that point, we had no idea of how the day was going to come together, how many songs we needed, how to move guests from ceremony to reception, when to do first dance, etc. Paul was friendly and professional and helped us plan our wedding day. Paul was never more than a phone call away and met with us several times for planning and song selections. Paul helped setup up the “unity beer” portion of our ceremony and was the first to give us a picture of us at dinner (which he somehow managed to take and print while performing DJ and Emcee duties). It was a very nice touch. As promised kept our reception moving and the dance floor packed (and for the first time ever someone played Free Bird when I requested it!). After the wedding Paul volunteered to turn our marriage license in for us. It was another example of the many things that Paul did to help us out and make our wedding day an absolutely amazing and special day. In short, Paul is a very friendly and professional DJ. He was a key player in making our wedding day perfect. We highly recommend Paul for weddings or any other special event.

Paul Thompson is simply amazing! Three weeks prior to our wedding date we had a medical family emergency and were not able to spend the time planning that we would have like to. Paul stepped up to the plate and it was exactly what we wanted. I also noticed that Paul took a personal interest in the enjoyment and safety of our guests. Twice my grandchildren 2 & 4 misplaced themselves and Paul was the first one there herding the little ducklings back to the room. Paul was a wonderful dj!! He was at our venue early, set-up and was ready to go with plenty of time to spare. He accommodated our best man's musical toast. He let him use his sound system and offered to do a sound check beforehand. He got the reception going and then brought my husband and I iced teas while we were taking pictures. He knew exactly what we needed! He made sure we were happy and had plenty of food and drinks. He was very accommodating with all our guests musical requests. Paul was able to keep the party going and added personality to our reception. We had many compliments on him even weeks after our wedding! Thank you Paul!
